Village Prenatals

Village Prenatals Logo.png

Village Prentals are community gatherings to celebrate, nurture, and educate pregnant folk in any gestational stage. This 6-class series weaves together mind, body, & soul through
evidence-based education, hands-on skill learning, and somatic practices. Each week
introduces a topic pertinent to pregnancy or postpartum to help you navigate your pregnancy and birthing journey. Held within a community of women in similar seasons of life, Village Prenatals is a wonderful opportunity for mothers to build your village. Learn more about our vision here.

What to Expect

  • Autonomy over Care: Weekly topics are specifically designed to enhance your
understanding of your own body to help you make informed-decisions that are right for you and your baby before, during, and after birth. You’ll also learn to take your own vitals and palpate your belly for insight into your babe’s position.

  • Community & Connection: Pregnancy and parenthood are not meant to be done alone. Through meaningful conversations, heart-felt vulnerability, and a commitment to building community, this offering aims to build the village we all need to flourish in parenthood.

  • Holistic Education: Birth happens in the body, not the mind, yet so often our birth
preparation focuses solely on the latter. A combination of prenatal yoga, breathwork, and visualization will accompany each week’s topic to help embody the lessons and
strengthen your mind-body connection. We’ll also offer practical applications to each
lesson, including making herbal goods and postpartum snacks together.

In-Person Groups

Each class will be held in Durango at Alana’s home on Saturday’s from 1-3:30pm. The first three classes are designed solely for birthing parents while the final 3 classes are open to partners and support persons. Each series will culminate with a potluck style celebration and birthing blessing.
