Doulas

A birth doula is your non-medical support person during pregnancy, labor, and birth. They provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support to you and your partner. Think of them as your experienced guide, helping you feel more confident, comfortable, and empowered as you navigate your unique birthing journey. They offer comfort measures, help you understand your options, and advocate for your preferences, working alongside your medical team.

A postpartum doula offers crucial support to new parents and families in the first weeks and months after welcoming a baby. They provide non-medical assistance with newborn care (like feeding, soothing, and diapering), offer emotional support for the parents' well-being, help with light household tasks, and connect you with valuable community resources. Their focus is on nurturing the entire family, promoting bonding, and fostering your confidence as you adjust to life with your new little one.

Embodied Remembrance
Alana Wilson

Bodywork | Yoga | Ritual

I bring a lens of embodiment to all of my offerings as a childbirth educator, postpartum Ayurveda doula, community facilitator, and ritualist. It is my belief that birth happens in the body, not the mind and when a newborn baby arrives, as does a newly born parent. Through ritual, yoga, evidenced-based education, art, and community care, my services weave together body, mind, and soul for all birthing parents. Accessibility and inclusivity are at the heart of Embodied Remembrance. My work is trauma-informed, gender affirming, and body positive. All of my services are offered at a sliding scale.

One on One Wellness
Melissa Reitman

Founder of One on One Wellness | Physical Therapist | Birth, Body & Hormone Health Specialist

Hi, I’m Melissa Reitman — mom to three fabulous grown kids and a passionate advocate for holistic healing through every stage of womanhood, from pregnancy to postpartum and beyond. My fascination with the body and birth began early in life and, over 30 years into my career, that passion is stronger than ever. In June 2021, I founded One on One Wellness, a physical therapy practice focused on personalized, integrative care. I specialize in supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum recovery, perimenopause, and menopause, with a deep belief that healing happens when we treat the whole person — mind, body, soul, and spirit. Whether I’m helping clients prepare for labor, recover after birth, or navigate the complex transitions of hormonal change, my goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that empowers women to feel strong, supported, and heard. When I’m not geeking out on a birth podcast or diving into another women’s health course, you’ll find me reading, hiking, paddle boarding, camping, cross-country skiing, or hanging out with my family and our 4-pound therapy dog, Cholula.
