Doulas

A birth doula is your non-medical support person during pregnancy, labor, and birth. They provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support to you and your partner. Think of them as your experienced guide, helping you feel more confident, comfortable, and empowered as you navigate your unique birthing journey. They offer comfort measures, help you understand your options, and advocate for your preferences, working alongside your medical team.

A postpartum doula offers crucial support to new parents and families in the first weeks and months after welcoming a baby. They provide non-medical assistance with newborn care (like feeding, soothing, and diapering), offer emotional support for the parents' well-being, help with light household tasks, and connect you with valuable community resources. Their focus is on nurturing the entire family, promoting bonding, and fostering your confidence as you adjust to life with your new little one.

Embodied Remembrance
Alana Wilson

Bodywork, Yoga, Ritual

I bring a lens of embodiment to all of my offerings as a childbirth educator, postpartum Ayurveda doula, community facilitator, and ritualist. It is my belief that birth happens in the body, not the mind and when a newborn baby arrives, as does a newly born parent. Through ritual, yoga, evidenced-based education, art, and community care, my services weave together body, mind, and soul for all birthing parents. Accessibility and inclusivity are at the heart of Embodied Remembrance. My work is trauma-informed, gender affirming, and body positive. All of my services are offered at a sliding scale.

One on One Wellness
Melissa Reitman

Physical Therapy, Bodywork, Doula

Hello. My name is Melissa Reitman. I am an empty nest mother of 3 awesome kids, a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist, a Birth Doula and a body worker/healer. I am grateful to have the privilege to be a part of pregnancy, labor/delivery and postpartum recovery into the 4th trimester and menopause!! My passion for all things body and birth and women’s health began in my youth and after over 30 years of practice, is at an all time high. In June of 2021 I opened One on One Wellness, a physical therapy practice with an emphasis on holistic pelvis health treatment including pregnancy and beyond. I believe the mind, body, soul and spirit are all connected and all need attention for complete healing and recovery. When I am not geeking out on a birth podcast or another PT course, You might find me reading, walking/hiking, paddle boarding, camping, cross country skiing or just hanging out with my family and 4 pound therapy dog, Cholula.
