Our Village
Community gatherings for expecting mothers and pregnant folk
Service Description
A 5-week closed prenatal support cohort for pregnant people and those on a journey of conception. Each gathering will begin with a brief check-in to share what is coming up for you and introduce the weekly topic/theme. Listen to the heartfelt vulnerability of others while sharing your own story. Our Village is a prenatal support group — not a childbirth class — designed to help you build real community before postpartum begins. Pregnancy can feel surprisingly lonely. Even uncomplicated pregnancies bring fear, questions, and unknowns. This is a space to talk about it — together. Each week includes: • A guided check-in and facilitated discussion • A focused theme relevant to pregnancy and early postpartum • Practical tools and grounded education to support your body and nervous system • Time to build relationships that extend beyond the 5 weeks Held within the container of community, Our Village is a brave space to gather, be held, and offer the same to others in similar seasons of life. We welcome participants at any gestational stage, as well as those exploring or navigating conception. Accessibility and inclusion are at the heart of Our Village. We are especially attuned to the needs of non-traditional families. If you are single, queer, or in any other way non-traditional, there is a space here for you. Your facilitators are Jo Florence (midwife apprentice, full-spectrum doula, herbalist) and Alana Wilson (full-spectrum doula, yoga teacher, childbirth educator). This group is inclusive of all birth paths and care providers. Whether you are working with OBs, midwives, planning hospital birth, home birth, or still deciding — you belong here. Weekly meetings are held at Alana’s home in Durango. Address provided upon sign-up. Registration is required. Space is limited to 12 participants to allow for meaningful connection. We do not want financial constraint to keep you from a support group. If you're in need of a scholarship, we have a limited number available. Please email us at info+scholarship@forloveandbabes.com. Our intention is simple: support before the cracks form. Build your village now — not when you’re already overwhelmed.
